I’m taking a class over at BluPrint (just found them a few days ago and love them! **Update CRAFTSY is now BluPrint) Anywho, this is a distress ink art journal background page that I just made a few minutes ago from following a class by Marjie Kemper.
I’ve worked with distress inks before but not in the quantity she does.
I’m using Tim Holtz (Ranger) Distress Inks sets 1, 2, and 3. So far loving them! I wish they were a bit “juicer” but I am learning you really need to squish your art tools in there to get the liquid gold, so to speak.
I cut up a manila folder to make this page, as she works a lot with this type of paper saying the inks spread much easier with it, than other papers.
The distress ink colors that I used for this project were: Picked Rasberry, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Seedless Preserves and Black Soot.
Two generic stencils were used as well as a gel stamper with words.
Black and white acrylic paint make up the circles and lines.
I will probably ad some more discreet text as there doesn’t seem to be enough mixed into the background, before I finish this page off.
Can’t wait to finish this; think I’m going for a bee type of theme, will definitely link to it once I get it done and posted. So excited, taking an art class isn’t like me, and it is so wonderful to get other’s perspective on how to create!
Enjoy in Joy! ~~Tina
