Here I have used acrylic Gesso and pink acrylic paint with a makeup wedge to make a nice texture, yet slighlty colored book cover.

Once the journal itself is COMPLETELY done I will fully finish and decorate both the front and back of the cover.  I like to do it this way so that I can lay the book flat as I work, once I’m done with the art journal then I can add fancy bulky stuff due to not needing to worry about working on a flat book.
