I created this journal page maybe a year ago, today I find myself in the same mind set.
“Some Birds Just Aren’t Meant To Be Caged”
Maybe it’s just the time of the year with spring on her way in, I don’t know.
But I’ve not done my arts and crafting in awhile putting “making money” ahead of my own fun and I just realized that I am not living life doing that and isn’t that the purpose of life?
The page was created with watercolors as the background.
I hand drew, on a watercolor paper, the hummingbird and all the flowers. I used watercolors on those as well (I share the supplies below).
I cut them out and glued them into the journal. Then I designed the saying on my inkjet and printed it out then attached it as well.
I also have some stamps in the background as well. I believe I spritzed some water on this for ever watery or blurry type look to bring out the bird and the flowers better.
Here’s the water color set and one of my water brushes, both I got from Amazon:
ART SUPPLIES USED:
The two fun things I used on this page, one is the paint brushes that you fill with water they are so very very neat!!
The other was my watercolor paints, while you can use children’s watercolors, the pigment in those are pretty poor and not vibrant enough to get good colors.
This journal itself is made from an up-cycled children’s book that was missing parts of it (it was an interactive book and the extra accessories are long gone). I love that it stands and that I display one journal page at a time.
I hope this art journal page inspires you – to create something in joy – anything, or just to enjoy the moment you are in.
